[The battle continues!] [When last we left our heroes, Christian had just landed a solid blow on the chest of Centaurion, whose armor had taken the brunt (though certainly not all) of the impact as Centaurion struggled to ward off Eternal Warrior while simultaneously fighting off Abby, Christian and the Tree Swarm kami.] [Horus, meanwhile, has been bound with a whip from Irish myth used to drag the sun across the sky, but she's slowly working her way free...] [The park's already a mess, what with the uprooted trees and big craters and such, but that's to be expected.] [Session Start] * Christian 's a few steps away, leaving room for the trees to slam into Centaurion as he watches with a wary eye, darting between Horus and the whip. His focus is on the horse-man though and he's ready to jet at any moment. * Abby is totally flying above Centaurion. It's awesome. Her kami are in the fray with he. * Horus has been dragged through the sky, from east to west, struggling the entire time as her aura flickers around her erratically. Eventually, her struggling pays off, and she manages to slip out of the whip, hovering as it falls uselessly to the ground. * Abby swoops on down past her own swarm to swing her staff through Centuarion and score a solid hit. "You did not just swan reference me, Centuarion. Even high schoolers get that reference nowadays." [Centaurion raises an armored forearm to block the blow... and seems mildly surprised when it passes right through the armor, and through him, beaning him right in the soul and knocking him off balance momentarily.] [Seizing on this brief advantage, EW presses his attack with a flurry of axe swings, and a couple of hits get through, knocking Centaurion around. Centaurion recovers and counterattacks, though, driving his gladius through EW's armor and into his side, drawing blood from the Norseman.] [As EW staggers back, a long, thin staff appears in Centaurion's hand...] [He begins to spin it, and it grows longer... and longer... and soon it seems like its radius stretches as far as the eye can see, and damn if it growing as thick as a column as well...] * Horus 's eyes widen. "The Staff of the Monkey King!" she yells in warning as she tries to move... but not fast enough, as she's slammed pretty good, summersaulting through the air. * Christian manages to see it coming and leaps to avoid it but misjudges the radius of the attack which clips his legs hard enough to send him flying into a building. * Abby gets sent spinning by the staff as it catches her out of the air, as do the trees. As she rights herself, the trees waste no time rejoining their assault on Centuarion, managing to score more successful hits than last time! [Centaurion swats futilly at the tree kami as they swarm around him. "Away, damnable spirits! I've killed many of your kind, and am more than happy to destroy more!"] * Christian grunts as he hits the ground and eyes Centurion, cracking his knuckles. "Blah blah blah, killing. Is there anything else in that empty skull of yours?" And suddenly he's not there, but shifting towards Centurion's side, giving him a screaming backhand at the flanks. [Christian's fist slams into the him of one of Centaurion's hind legs, throwing his back legs out from under him and sending him sprawling to the ground. He just barely makes it back to his feet before EW is back on him.] * Horus shoots straight up in the air, shouting, "You can't keep the sun out of the sky, Centaurion!" as she blazes with a new and brilliant fire, shining light over the battlefield. * Abby swoops down for another swipe, with a slight grin, "Maybe, but the spirits'll outlast you, Minty." [Ooh, Centaurion takes that one right in the juju.] [Once again, Abby's blow knocks him off balance enough for EW to land a few solid shots through Centaurion's guard, driving him back to the edge of the park. Centaurion pivots and kicks out with his hind legs, sending EW reeling back, giving the centaur a moment's space...] [During which he draws an ornate, jeweled naginata.] [Which he promptly drives blade-first into the ground. The ground seems to ripple for a moment, before a massive tidal wave of earth and rock comes shooting out in all directions!] * Horus 's eyes widen and she barely has enough time to climb high enough into the sky to avoid the brunt of the attack, though she still ends up coated in dirt, which quickly begins to burn off. * Christian keeps his eye on the situation and leaps at just the right time. Since Abby seems to be a pretty prime target, he snatches her out of the air just before she gets hit and landing when the shockwaves subside. "You okay?" * Abby looks surprised at being yanked out of the air after trying to dodge the rockwave, looking to Christian oddly for a moment, before she tries to float free of his grasp, "Ah... yes. Yeah, I'm good, thanks." * Jacqueline withdraws her hand right as she rounds the corner to the fight proper, at which point the rest of the team will see a fairly nice sedan screaming directly towards Centaurion. A couple of seconds ater that and it might be difficult to see /anything/ around the villain, because the vehicle is on a collision course and it's been rigged to explode in a massive fireball on contact. * Christian nods. "Trees ain't lookin' so hot though. Fortunately, neither is horse breath over there." He lets her float easily enough. * Jacqueline , by that point, will be strolling in the opposite direction from the speeding vehicle/explosion while lazily radioing, "If you're a musclebound idiot with a divinity complex, you might want to be careful," and daintily brushing herself off. [Well, Centaurion certainly didn't see that one coming. Jacky even managed to set it so the car exploded a second or so after contact, so EW avoids getting caught in the blast as Centaurion is caught in the middle of a rather large explosion.] * Horus whistles from her vantage point in the sky. "Nice shot," she comms. [For a moment, the battlefield goes quiet, but out of the flames comes Centaurion, sooty and singed and with a fair limp, but still up and ready to fight.] [EW nods approvingly to Jacky. Evidently, he is impressed when you hit his mortal enemies with exploding mid-sized sedans.] * Christian looks at Centaurion out of the flames. "Oh *good*. I'd hate for this to end boringly." * Abby floats away from Christian as the bushes regroup, some of them probably on fire, and keep hammering on the flaming centuar. "When do we do things boring? Unless you don't like musicals." Maaaaan, don't remind me. [The trees, most of which aren't on fire, since they weren't carrying along with the car to where it exploded, swarm again around Centaurion, scratching and tearing at his exposed bits.] * Christian dashes into the fray with the trees and jumps just a few meters before he reaches Centaurion, slamming his forearm against the side of his helmet with a strong backhand. [The force of the blow again knocks Centaurion off balance, though the helmet seems to take a fair bit of the impact, and Christian's arm goes numb for a moment as he lands.] * Horus clearly decides that the only way to follow up fire is with more fire, as a sword made of light and fire forms in her hand. She throws it, spinning, down for Centaurion - evidently she wants to show him what it's like to have weapons chucked at you. * Christian rubs his arm a bit as he lands. "Ow. Jesus Christ." [Centaurion, beset from all sides, is unable to turn in time to try to deflect/reflect Horus' attack, and catches it in the side.] * Abby flies in after Horus' sword is thrown down, and does another one-handed arcing swing through his form. "You're losing it, Centuarion." [He can't avoid that one either, and reels at the karmic blow.] [To be continued.]
