[Friday, October 31, 5:57 PM.] [It's Halloween! And Cheryl and Shani said they'd try to do something for Halloween. Which is why Cheryl is standing outside the 215th Street Station around 6, looking around. It's also probably why she's dressed like a witch. But we'll get to the desc in a moment. Mini start!] * Cheryl is dressed like a witch, and pretty classically too. With a long dress, cinched at the waist with a rope belt that has a few pouches hanging off it, and a slightly flopped over pointy hat, she is leaning on the broomstick she's holding upside down a bit heavily as she looks around for Shani. Sadly, her modern glasses don't really work with the outfit, but what're you gonna do. * Shani comes walking up the stairs out of the station, looking for Cheryl. She's, well, dressed in long tie die t-shirt, with a peace sign necklace around her neck, bellbottom jeans and flipflop sandals. Her purse is still on her, and her hair is way messier than normal, crinkled about but thankfully kept in place with a headband and colored ribbons braided in. * Shani spots the witch in question and waves, smiling and revealing definitely fake vampire fangs. She rushes over. Oh, and she's also carrying a jar of what looks like syrup? Yeah. "Hey! Nith costume." * Cheryl looks at Shani's outfit and starts to say something, but then there's the fangs and she suddenly looks momentarily confused, but with a slight smile on her face. "Ah... thanks. Abigail had a few things to make it easier... she collects quite a lot of things for someone who moves as often as she did." * Cheryl stops leaning on the broomstick, putting it over her shoulder. Oh, thweet. Nothin' wrong with clathics. * Shani makes a face, then spits out the fangs, holding them in one hand. "Maybe I shoulda just gone with the hippie look. This is fuckin' annoying." * Cheryl looks at the fangs, then looks over Shani before managing to say, "Ah... um... you're a vampire hippie?" Yeah. A *black* vampire hippie. See, drinkin' tree sap. * Shani holds up the syrup and gives it a shake. "Gotta stay renewable. Food's got feelin's too." * Cheryl looks at it, then giggles slightly. "That's..." she puts her hand over her mouth and continues laughing a little. "A...Abigail is calling it... 'high concept'..." * Shani grins with her real teeth this time. "A 'high concept', huh? That a good thing?" She starts walking off towards the haunted house, fangs still in hand. * Cheryl swallows and manages to get out, "I think it's cute..." as she starts to head that way as well. "Original... and makes sense given the last week..." * Shani laughs. "Yeah, well, was easy to put together... Wish I coulda got better fangs, though." * Cheryl nods slightly. "Yeah. They do make good ones for stagework... not that we needed them yesterday." Nah, well. Not you, right? OH. * Shani opens her purse and pulls out a baggie, putting the fangs away, then finds something else and takes that out. It's a hematite crystal point necklace. "Came in today," she says as she passes it over. * Cheryl starts, "The holograms..." and then trails off at the necklace, "Aah--?" She takes it and looks at it, then nods and says, "Ah, can you hold this?" as she offers Shani the broom. "It's got one of those screw clasps." Yeah, no problem. * Shani takes the broom with her now free hand. * Cheryl smiles at her as she puts her arms behind her neck to put it on. She says, "Well, it ain't the old one, but it's pretty close." All you can hope for if you're not gonna make 'em yourself. * Shani nods and smiles. "Looks good." She offers the broom back. So what's the story behind that necklace anyway? * Cheryl grins a bit, then says, "The real story? I the first one from a friend back in Greece, a long time ago. _SHE_ got it on a trip to America." A pause, then, "And then.. uh, we had an accident, and I lost it." * Cheryl looks off to the side slightly a second, then back forward. "I managed to find one like it when I was in uni over here, and that one lasted until about two weeks ago." * Shani lets out a breath. "Yeah... man, that's tough. I'm guessin' you can't get ahold of her again or nothin'?" * Cheryl licks her lips. "Once, but, uh, that was with Mizuki's help." She is silent a moment, then laughs a little. "Or maybe she just fooled me with some incense. How would I know, huh?" Glad to have a new one, though. Oh. * Shani looks ahead and dodges passerby. "Sorry." * Cheryl shakes her head. "Was twenty years ago, Shani. Don't worry 'bout it." Just makes it all mean more. I mean, I can't let her have the best necklace of the two of us, can I? * Shani chuckles. "Guess so." * Cheryl lets out a slight chuckle, but it fades off as they walk, coming upon the park's entrance. As they get there she points off and says, "It's that way, yes?" Yeah, should be. * Shani heads that way! It's the thing to do to go to the place to be! * Cheryl walks up that way too, switching the broom back into a walking staff. "Didn't get too beat up yesterday, did you?" * Shani snorts. "Got shoved through a fuckin' window. That wasn't fun." But you mostly fixed it up. * Cheryl nods and smiles at her. "Good." She gets to the line for the place and lets out a quiet sigh before looking over at Shani again. "Have you ever been here before?" * Shani grins. "Nope." She looks up ahead, bouncing on her heels. "Don't normally do much for Halloween." * Cheryl smiles a bit more at Shani's excitement, then tilts her head down as she brushes some hair back. "Back home, there was a lot of trick-or-treating and there was always something." Well, there's trick or treating. Parents're probably handin' out candy at home right now. But I ain't done that in a while. * Cheryl nods a little and says, "I always handled that, once Luke grew out of the trick-or-treating himself." * Shani laughs. "Yeah, well." She stands on her toes. "Went to some parties for a while... my brother throws one every year, but I wasn't plannin' on goin' this time." * Cheryl nods and then asks, "Lookin' ahead?" Eh, just... didn't wanna have to excuse myself. You know. * Cheryl blinks, then smiles weakly and goes, "No, I mean... going up on your toes." Yeah, an' got some nervous energy. Maybe it's alla that tree sap. * Cheryl giggles again. "It's all water and sugar. Like soda. But... treelike." * Shani grins. "Fuckin' right. Tree blood. Soda ain't blood for nothin'. 'Cept ten year olds." * Cheryl keeps smiling as she looks away down the line, mming slightly to herself. "It... is a little exciting." Yeah, and there's food at the end- looks like we're next. * Cheryl nods and says, cheerily, "Yeah." [And so then in they go! And then a short fading of time later, the sun having started to set, they come out of the entire sequence to a tent near the forest, where there is food and such to be gotten!] * Shani is laughing as she walks through grass to the tent. "That was fuckin' awful, and AWESOME. I didn't know they were gonna have a mummy and werewolf, too." * Cheryl was smiling as she walked out, but as Shani comments, she starts giggling furiously as she tries to say, "T-the mummy was perfect... and that group of kids running away from him..." * Cheryl takes a big breath and then sighs it out, putting her hand to her chest, still smiling. "Whu." * Shani laughs. "RAWRGH. I am the mummy!" She menacingly, arms stretched, and stomps towards Cheryl. * Cheryl steps back and raises her broom defensively, laughing slightly before replying, "Oh no, I'd... better outwalk you before it's too late!" Grrraaaaargh! * Shani keeps stomping. Towards Cheryl. And the food! * Cheryl looks behind her so she can not trip as she walks backwards, chuckling. "Oh, whatever will stop the Mummy." [Two bad sequals ought to do it.] Pizza! And soda! I mean, RAWRGH. * Cheryl giggles and turns around to walk normally, not trying to get away from Shani anymore as she says, "You mean the blood of children?" YES. Ten year olds! * Shani puts an arm around Cheryl's shoulders. "Gotcha," she says triumphantly, as she walks with her to the tent. "Now you're going to drink child's blood, too!" * Cheryl eeps as Shani gets her arm around her, and keeps walking to the tent. "Isn't that what witches are supposed to do anyway?" Nah, witches use them for evil rituals. Which might involve drinking, but in the 'gotta feed' kinda way. * Cheryl nods a little and says, "Oh, well, I guess just drinking it will have to be enough." * Cheryl heads into the tent so they can grab pizza and soda and things like that! * Shani does, too! She keeps in mind to character concept and sticks to the cheese pizza, which... well, there's plenty of anyway. Mmm, pizza. * Cheryl doesn't, so she has mushrooms and meats and everything as she tries to manage broom, plate, and soda and find a place to sit. * Shani wades through the people and finds a couple of chairs at the end of one of the long tables. She puts her stuff in front of one of them and waves. "Hey, Cheryl! Found a spot!" * Cheryl mmphs around the cup she's holding in her mouth and walks over, almost dropping the broom before she manages to get it set up against the table so she can put her plate and cup down. "Whu." She flumps down in the chair. At least my legs don't hurt much. All that was yesterday. * Shani puts the syrup on their table and starts folding her pizza. "You seem to be doin' okay." * Cheryl smiles a little and says, "I'm in good shape." She looks at Shani folding her pizza, chuckles slightly to herself, then does the same. She's actually got quite a bit of pizza on her plate. "I mean, I'm not lead material, but I can keep up." * Shani snorts. "Way the critics were goin' on about it, if you ain't lead material now, you will be soon." She then has a bite of her folded slice, chews, and makes a noise of appreciation. * Cheryl smiles weakly, then says, "Well, um, it's... not as if I..." she takes a bite and mms herself, then swallows. "That's... not happening." Figured, yeah... you tell 'em yet? * Cheryl nods a little and says quietly, "The assistant director and Josie know." She takes another bite. * Shani nods. How'd she take it? * Shani eats more pizza as they talk, because pizza is delicious. ... weirdly. * Cheryl blushes and looks down at her pizza, taking a drink. * Shani eyes. "Uh huh." * Cheryl looks across her glass at Shani, then swallows and says, "Well, it was weird." A pause, then, "I... mean, she said she was sad that I wouldn't be working with her. So I was good enough." Well... nice to get a compliment, I guess? * Cheryl smiles a little more, still blushing a bit. "It was." * Shani eyes Cheryl for a long moment, then asks quietly, "You don't have a crush on her, do ya?" * Cheryl 's eyes widen and she coughs violently for a moment. * Shani pushes over Cheryl's soda. * Cheryl takes a deep breath and then says, "No--*cough*--no I do not." She takes a sip and then another breath. "No... she just... propositioned me a lot. And we worked... um, well, you saw it. It was very... high energy. And uncomfortable." Oh... yeah. * Cheryl looks away. "And having to lie to her most of the time too. She's not... she's not the kind of person..." she swallows, then shakes her head. "Sorry." Her voice actually gets a little annoyed. "Abigail thinks this is far funnier, but that is because she liked it." Well, Abby's kinda a dick sometimes, y'know? What's that about- what kinda person is she? * Cheryl smirks a moment, an Abby smirk, but then it fades away as she picks up a piece of pizza and says slowly, "She... she shifts. She doesn't seem to have any... roots. Anything that she stands for." She works very hard. I am happy she is going to get so much from this. But I... * Shani ahs. "Well, that'd explain why she was willin' to throw someone she didn't know at all under the fuckin' bus. More or less." She eats more pizza. * Cheryl trails off, looking down at her pizza still, then takes a bite of it, not saying anything after. What's wrong? * Cheryl shakes her head, and says quietly, "It's been a confusing few weeks. And a more confusing two days." * Shani blinks, then nods. "Yeah. If you ever need ta hash out the confusingness of it all, you know where I am. Pretty much all the time." * Cheryl looks across at Shani and smiles weakly. "I--I'm very glad you're here." I don't have many people to talk to. * Shani smiles back. "Me neither. Lucky for both of us, yeah?" * Cheryl nods a bit. "Yeah." After a moment more of eating, she toys with a bit of her hair a moment before asking, "W-why did you ask if I had a crush on her, anyway?" * Shani laughs. "Why? You were bright fuckin' red, Cheryl. And she's kinda hot. I just figured I'd ask so you wouldn't have to say so." She sips on her soda. "Or not." An' she's confusin' you. All pretty much perfect for an identity crisis. * Cheryl smiles weakly for a moment, but the smile fades away as she looks away. "I--it isn't some sort of... Abigail made it more difficult than it had to be, but it is still hard to walk away from the kind of... energy that sort of production provides." * Cheryl lets out a quiet laugh and then looks back to Horus, grabbing pizza. "I can't even put it on my resume." * Shani shakes her head and finishes off her slice. "You'll get another chance if that's what you want," she says, after having a sip of her soda. "But trust me - if you stay in *this* business, you ain't gonna get the fuckin' time." * Cheryl nods slightly. "I know. I decided to take on this responsibility, but being forced to face the future I'll... never get to have was not easy." I guess that's... also why I did it. Yeah. * Shani reaches for her second slice of pizza, suddenly in a less awesome mood. "I know what yamean." * Cheryl smiles a little over at her, then reaches out to touch Shani's hand lightly. "I'm sorry. I'm not meaning to add to your burden." Eh, you ain't addin' nothin'. Hell, just having someone to fuckin' talk to who *isn't*... I mean, you're helpin'. Seriously. * Cheryl nods slightly, pulls her hand back to drink more children's blood, then replies, "Good. I mean, if you do want to talk about things as well... I can be there for you." She smiles a bit more. Thanks. Might have to take you up on that sometime. * Cheryl nods a bit and replies, "Of course. Any time." She downs another slice of pizza quickly. [And so the girls talked, they ate, and they drank the blood of children. Eventually they might get summoned to save the world, but that time is not right now.] [Mini End!]
