[It's late Wednesday night! ManCheryl and Jeanette have been rehearsing practically all day, and Cheryl's exhausted. But damn it, she knows her lines.] [Surprisingly, so does Jeanette. The girl wants to be a star so bad you can imagine her standing in front of a mirror at night practicing her Tony speech, but the girl's actually a pretty decent actress, with a solid voice and pretty good dance skills.] [Cheryl is hanging around because the team is meeting up nearby to go over plans for tomorrow in a little bit. Fortunately, she's still disguised when there's a knock at her dressing room door!] [Semi-mini start] * Cheryl has her very own dressing room? Wow. She's looking into the mirror at her holoface, just kinda staring as she murmurs, "That's not very fair." A moment, then she starts, realizing that there's been a knock. "Ah--ahem. Yes?" [A female voice! "Do you have a moment for your co-star?"] * Cheryl lets out a soft sigh, then stands up out of her chair to face the door as she says, "Of course. Come in." [Jeanette steps in, dressed in street clothes. "Co-star. I've got a lead on Broadway... has it sunk in for you yet?"] * Cheryl smiles slightly, hand running back over her... well, his, hair. He's in streets as well. "A lot of lines have sunk in." He smiles weakly. [She nods. "Yeah, I'm impressed. You're pretty damn good. Hell of a set of pipes." She looks intently at Cheryl. "You realize what kind of opportunity this is for us, right?"] * Cheryl licks his lips and nods slightly. "It's... I'm sure it will be one, yes." ["We're the stars. Even if this show bombs, if we're good out there... if we make a good showing for ourselves... it'll make our careers. We'll have been leads in a major Broadway show. Won't matter that it stunk, it'll get us in doors that never would've opened for us before."] [Her eyes light up. "And if we can make this thing work..."] * Cheryl nods slowly, then offers, "Shows can run... quite a while when they're sucessful." [She nods vigorously. "This show isn't 'good' in the traditional sense... but hell, look how long Phantom ran. Mama Mia. Fucking *Cats*. This show is cheese, but we can make it *good* cheese."] [She grins. "All it needs is for us to be the right amount of ham to go with that cheese."] * Cheryl looks down a moment, then back to her. "So why... are you talking to me? You said you thought I was good enough." ["You are. You just seemed kinda... hesitant out there. Like you've got two lines of thought running through your head at once."] [She walks up to you, and puts her hands on your shoulders. "Relax. Have fun. You've got talent. Let it take over, find your zen ham state, and we'll be fucking stars before the night is out."] * Cheryl starts at the two lines of thought thing, glances aside, and then when she grabs his shoulders he looks back at her and smiles a bit more. "Ah... well, thank you. It'll be a little more... natural tomorrow." He licks his lips and adds, "Although no less strange." [She leans in, resting her chin on one shoulder, and whispering into your ear. "Pull this off, studly, and I might just be in the mood to celebrate afterwards..." She reaches around to give you a little slap on the ass, then turns on her heel and heads for the door.] [As she exits, she looks back. "By the way... Jeanette's just my stage name. My real name's Josie Birch." *wistfully* "S'gonna look amazing in lights..." *closes the door behind her*] * Cheryl 's eyes start to widen as she puts her chin on his shoulder, and at the smack go about as wide as they can go, his entire body stiffening. He starts to relax as she explains her real name and just gives her an oddly dazed smile. It takes her a few moments to shake it off and murmur, "Hopefully you... will be lucky, Josie."
