[Sunday, October 27th, 7:49 PM.] [It's the same day as all the crazy building craziness. A number of hours have passed since everything was saved... and Abby is still at the site of the building's collapse.] [She still looks pretty beat up from the fight as she stands up slowly from the ground, with a slight groan, and pulls out her comm card. Hooray for communications! And interacting with other people. Mini start!] * Abby messes with the comm card awkwardly for a moment before enabling a call to Horus. She murmurs to herself, "Eternity has a tough time disappearing. It's against its nature." * Horus picks up after about a minute. "Horus here." "If someone's knocking over another building, tell 'em to wait for tomorrow." * Abby licks her lips and says, "Uh... hey, Horus. No, no... just the one." "Thank fuckin' god. What's up?" * Abby picks up off the ground slowly into the air as she replies, "I, uh... I had something I was supposed to give you and then I got distracted by a dead building." "Oh yeah?" * Horus yawns, then follows that with, "Sorry, fuckin' tired after that. Anyway, you wanna meet up or whatever?" * Abby chuckles weakly and murmurs, "Can't blame you. I, uh, yeah. Probably should." "'kay, where's good for you?" * Abby is silent a moment, smiles weakly to herself, then asks, "You know Central Park? There's an Egyptian obelisk there." "Who doesn't know Central Park? I'll be there in ten. Gotta change." * Abby rolls her eyes to herself and replies, "Alright. I'll see ya there." * Horus doesn't hear the eye rolling, so she has nothing to say about that. Instead, she hangs up! * Abby hangs it up and replies, "Look, there's no better time. 'Sides, it's private." * Abby zooms off in that direction. * Abby arrives at the obelisk and sits down on top, with a slight groan, and as she puts her staff across her legs, replies to herself with, "Just... stop it, alright? It'll be fine. All of it." She wipes her hand on her outfit again and murmurs, "Mizuki'd never approve." * Horus appears in just a few mintues, streaking silver and white through the night sky. She spots Abby on top of the obelisk and flies over, touching down gently. "Hey," she says, a little breathless as she goes about sitting next to Abby. * Abby looks up at her and says, with a weak smile, "You'll note I didn't change. Takes time I need to breathe." Jus'... tired, that's all. So fuckin' tired. I hear sleep fixes that. * Abby runs her hand back through her hair and sighs slightly. "Nasty rumor." * Horus glances at Abby. "Kinda unfair, yeah." The gem in her mask winks with light briefly, and her wings, the feathers in her hair, and most of her glow disappears. * Abby smiles moreso as she looks up at her, then, "What's unfair?" If you can't sleep. Pretty fuckin' unfair, right. * Abby shrugs slightly, then, "Been a few, yeah." * Horus stifles a yawn. "Yeah." * Abby looks out over the park, then says, "I know I'm a hippie by modern standards, but even I didn't think I'd end up holding a building's hand as it died." Its hand... oh... you mean, like, the spirit? * Abby nods a little, and her voice gets softer and slower as she murmurs, "We could... feel its pain. It told us of its whole life. The Sherwood had just... gotten better, and then to get wrecked..." * Abby rubs her face and looks over at Horus as she adds, "It's horrible. It felt like... nothing I ever thought..." * Horus looks at Abby in silence for a moment, then says, "I guess... you must've felt something die, huh." * Abby nods slightly and replies softly, "Yes." She looks down before murmuring, "Abigail... says the first time's always strange, but I'm just... even the other buildings were mourning." Wow. I mean... sorry, I just... Even with all of the spirit stuff, I never really thought about the city as *alive*. Really alive. That's just... * Horus looks out to said city from their vantage point in Central Park. "That's horrible, almost." * Abby shakes her head and looks back to her, smiling weakly as she rubs her face. "I'm sorry, I..." she trails off and shakes her head, "Horrible? No... that's why Mizuki... Abby says that's what Mizuki and she were really... trying to grasp, in this new age." Whaddaya mean? * Abby looks over at her and says, "I'm not really sure." A pause, then the voice quickens. "Mizuki was born when the largest spirit in a human thing might be... a single temple. A city is... a whole new thing." She snorts and mutters, "Warrior must have been listening to her talk too much." * Abby looks back out. "Not as awful as you think. Not like people gave a damn about trees either." What's the difference? I give a damn, and I've always lived in the city. Little hippie in everyone, right? * Abby laughs faintly and says, "Not everyone, trust me." She looks over at her and half-smiles. "It's still hard to really grasp. Talking to a tree is one thing, but that building... had hundreds of people in it, hundreds of thousands--millions, more... of living things. One building. It's... pretty heady, even when you been doin' this a while." You don't mind her workin' through it with you, do ya? Nah. Number of people you've got to talk about something like a building being alive without them thinkin' you're fuckin' nuts is pretty fuckin' limited. Plus, talkin' like this is putting me on a normal sleep schedule. * Abby chuckles and says, "Normal? What's that, two to six?" * Horus smirks. "More or less." Wouldn't trade for your deal, but fuck, some days I'd come close. Not havin' to sleep has to be nice sometimes. * Abby nods a little, then replies, in the softer voice, "Sometimes. I never thought I'd miss it, but there's s omething... close to the divine about it. I... suppose I don't need to get any closer to the divine." * Abby blinks, then lets out a soft laugh before adding, "I, uh, mean, not compared to you, I guess, although you are pretty, uh, close..." Well, I guess the lettin' yourself go, trustin' you'll be safe... yeah, I can kinda see that. * Horus laughs at the follow up and comments, "Trust me, I don't *feel* that divine." * Abby smiles slightly at her and says, "You look it." She looks down and then adds, "I mean, with the mask and all." * Horus grins at Abby. "The mask does help." She looks out at the city. "And I can do almost everything I can think of." But the rest of it? I try, but it don't work. That's the part that's missing. * Abby looks over at her, then out over the city. "Omnipotence before omniscience..." Yeah. But you gotta have both to really be divine. I'm just someone with the power of a god, whatever that means. * Abby mms, then says, "Not all... mythological gods were omniscient. How else did they get fooled? God is, certainly, but..." she trails off, then says, "Ah, sorry, I guess that's..." * Abby licks her lips and glances at Horus a moment. * Horus shrugs, still looking out at the city. "'s cool. I use his name in vain enough." * Abby looks down at that, then says, "You and her both." She's silent a moment, before saying, "The Sherwood's not... wholly gone. Maybe she's just not fully dead yet." * Horus thinks about that briefly, then says, "The basement." If they build on the basement, maybe she'll survive. * Abby mms, then, "Maybe... It'd be nice to come back in... a while and say hello." * Horus nods to Abby. "Sure." * Abby mms, biting her lip a moment before she sticks her hand inside her outfit at her bustline to grab something. "Only having one hand's a real pain." Beat, then, "I guess that's not new." * Horus smiles a little. "Sorry. I'd offer to help, but, uh." * Abby blinks and then looks down before saying, "It's fine..." she seems to grip something and pull it out, holding it in her hand. "Abigail keeps telling me to give you this before I forget." Okay? * Horus has no idea what it is, but that's the nature of surprises. She holds a hand out for it. * Abby extends her hand and opens it to reveal a leather band with a small slightly asymmetrical slab on it, with a wedjat symbol on the front. She smiles slightly at Horus as she adds, "She thinks it's a little funny I'm giving this to you, ah, on an Egyptian obelisk." * Horus stares at the necklace, and her hand freezes in the air. "Oh." There's a long, very uncomfortable pause as she continues to stare, but eventually she takes it. "Thanks." * Abby is looking at her during the pause, and starts to get a confused and worried look on her face. "What's wrong?" Nothing, just... tired. * Horus turns the necklace over in her hand, and her glow gets brighter as she takes a better look at it. "It's... really nice. Simple, but..." * Abby looks at her a little oddly, then opens her mouth to start saying something, but is interrupted by Horus actually replying. Her face brightens as she says, "Really, you think so?" I wasn't sure... some people don't like necklaces, you know. * Horus smiles at Abby and shifts, trying to regain her composure. "Yeah. Where'd you find this?" * Abby rubs her head and says, "Ah, some nice shop... I shouldn't say where." * Horus nods. "Yeah." She falls silent again, turning the stone over in her hand. * Abby mms and keeps looking at Horus, then looking down, then back to Horus. A weak smile comes on her face. "I'm not sure if you can wear it on duty. Well, if you'd want to, I mean, of course you can..." * Horus nods, still looking at the necklace. "Yeah... well..." She pulls it over her head. "I'll wear it for now, anyway." Thanks, um, host. I really do like it. * Abby looks slightly down, basfhully, and says, "Good, I... hoped you would." * Horus smiles, and she cocks her head slightly. "'m surprised you thought of me like that, really. I mean, we haven't been working together that long, and it's not even Christmas." * Abby keeps the bashful going as she replies, "Well, uh, I... saw it and thought of you, I guess. The wedjat symbol's distinctive..." And... who knows what'll have happened by Christmas... right? * Horus pshes. "We'll make it to the New Year, at least." After that, all bets are off. * Abby looks back up with a small laugh and asks, "What makes you say that?" * Horus grins. "You can't destroy the world on a major holiday. It just ain't right." * Abby smiles back and replies, "It'd be an awful time to do it." Sure would. Only way someone'd be that dastardly is if they had a fuckin' handlebar moustache. And we already met Magus. No moustache on the dude. * Abby looks surprised. Double surprised. "You DID?" Yeah, it was... oh... right. * Horus shifts uncomfortably, looking away again. "Right. Uh." He showed up... after Mizuki died. Not that day, but. * Abby remains confused for a moment, then lets out a quiet 'oh'. * Horus lets out a sigh. "Anyway, showed up, let us know we're 'special' or somethin', so he's cooking up some grand scheme to make us go out in style and put him in the history books." I dunno, pretty standard villain gloating rant sort of thing. * Abby mutters, "Fuckin' villains. Like we want to listen to that shit? That's the real villainy." Too fuckin' right. *God* that was an awful day. Nearly attacked Hyde, too. * Abby nods and says, "Yeah, you two get along just famously." Can't imagine... well, I guess you all liked her too somewhat. * Abby pause, then groans lightly and closes her eyes, rubbing her face. "... and now we're back to feeling things die again." * Horus shakes her head. "Sorry." Ain't you, girl. * Abby chuckles and says, as she reopens her eyes, "I been maudlin since before you were born, and I ain't that much older than ya." * Horus looks at Abby. "There's therapy for that." She might be joking. * Abby laughs anyway. "There ain't a therapy for being Abigail Kobayashi, Horus. Dad tried once." * Horus smiles a little. "Guess you're just stuck, then." * Abby smiles back and shakes her head. "On the moral coil for another day, yep." * Horus nods, clearly thinking about something. She breaks it off with, "I should get going. Thanks again for the necklace, Host, and it was fun hangin' out with you guys." * Abby looks off a moment, then blinks and looks back at Horus. The voice softens as she says, "Yes... ah, you're welcome. You were nice too. Anytime?" * Horus laughs. "Any time normal life ain't poundin' me in the face. Villains... well, you're always welcome to save my ass." She gets to her feet. "Take care, guys." * Abby looks up and waves with her hand. "You too." * Horus waves, then flares up before shooting off into the distance. * Abby looks up after her with a smile, then frowns and murmurs, "Yes, I was here, thank you." Beat. "Yes, I would." * Abby sits there a moment longer, grabs the staff and in a smooth motion steps off the obelisk, falling into flight to the south.
