[Tuesday October 21st, 10:46 PM!] [Round numbers are for chumps! We find Mizuki, or rather, Abby, floating over Central Park in patrol. It's Mizuki's old patrol, unused for a couple days, but now back in service.] [Which may or may not have made it busy so far. But she's just floating north at the moment, eyes peeled. Perhaps something will happen! Mini start!] * Abby murmurs, as she floats above, "I already told you, we didn't... well, I'm glad for ya, but that wasn't what we did." * Abby lets out a quiet sigh, then continues muttering, "Look, we weren't exactly high power asskickers. What did you want a priestess to fucking do?" * Horus comes flying along above Abby. It's not difficult for Abby to notice in spite of her conversation with herself as the entire area is flooded with a silvery white light. Plus, Horus says, "Hey, Abby 'n' host." * Abby turns her head to the side and chuckles slightly as she floats along. "Horus, hey. So why're you brightening up my section of the sky?" Was in the area, so figured what the hell, right? * Horus drops down to more Abby's level; seems she shed her bright gold for the night and replaced it with a colder, moon-style light. * Abby mms, then says, "Thanks. Moon's more my style anyway. So... how're you?" * Horus hehs. "You like it?" I'm all right, I guess. Still sore from yesterday, but. * Abby nods slightly, then says, "I've always been a night person. Makes this all pretty fitting. Now I only exist at night." She mms, then adds, "Yeah, we're feeling it too." Yeah... nice that you've got that healin' thing going. How're you doing? * Abby mms slightly, then replies with a half-smile, "Which way you askin'?" Both, I guess. * Horus smiles a bit in return. "You're in this together, right?" * Abby nods, then says, quietly, in the slower voice, "I'm just... excited. Ready. I wish it'd come a better way, but... I'm not about to turn away a blessing granted in death." That... the host, right? Sorry. * Horus 's smile turns a little sheepish. "I don't have a name for you; don't mean to objectify you or nothin'." * Abby looks slightly confused, then replies, "It's fine. You don't know me from Eve." A pause, then, "Or Abigail." * Abby licks her lips, then, "We're in superhero form, right? Your name's not... really Horus either." Nah, but it's my name now. 'bout as much as any other one, yeah? Spend like half the time as one person, half the time as another, both me. * Abby smiles slightly. "Then... shouldn't you call me Mizuki?" * Horus blinks, then nods. "Yeah, you're right. Just gotta get used to it." * Abby licks her lips again and says, "It's fine... I mean, I know it's rude, but it's... kinda required, right? You get that as much as anyone would, I'm sure." * Horus laughs a little. "Actually, when I first put this thing on, nobody knew I was any different from the last Horus." * Abby blinks, then replies, clearly surprised, "Wasn't he... a man?" I--I mean, you're very clearly... not a man. Oh, yeah, and older, too. But I managed to keep it up for about a month before anyone found out I wasn't him. Helps when you can make yourself pretty much as bright as you want. * Abby nods slightly and looks down at the ground a moment. "Ah... yes. Of course." * Horus pauses a brief moment, then adds, "Anyone who wasn't on our side, I mean. People who were on our side figured I was a dude but a different dude." * Abby mms, silent a few moments, then nods. "Because he... probably told them. Or something." Yeah. * Horus flies alongside Abby, as she's probably still on patrol. "Anyway, he was *supposed* to be replaced by a dude, so it was all very fun when they found out." She smiles a little, though it's not an amused smile at all. "But you can't pick your heroes, right?" * Abby smiles faintly and says, "I... suppose that's true. I suppose we didn't." * Abby tilts her head a moment, then nods slightly. "We probably won't have to worry about people caring about us too much... we're not that big of a name." But you will be. I bet Mizuki got pretty popular after the Headmaster thing. The parts that didn't get overshadowed by American Dream, anyway... * Horus falls silent for a moment, then continues, "And you're building offa that. 's how it works; the hero becomes bigger than life, because death don't stop 'em." * Abby looks away and says, "Of course it does." No. It stopped Mizuki. But it didn't stop Mizuki, if that makes any fucking sense. * Abby is silent a moment, then shakes her head. "That's... not what I meant, Horus." Death can stop a hero... just fine. Things less than death, too. * Horus sighs. "Yeah, I know." * Abby looks over at her and smiles weakly. "I'm sorry. Clearly you've seen more than I." It's... fine. Seriously, it's cool. * Abby nods slightly. "This isn't wholly new to me, but... it's still going to be new. God willing, I'll be up to the challenge." You'll be fine. You got someone to help you. And you got us, for whatever that's worth. * Abby smiles wider. "Well, if Abigail is a reliable witness, I am not too worried. Although... speaking ill of the dead aside, I am glad to not have to know American Dream. It was... a shock to learn what I did." Yeeeah, he was a dick, no question. Still sorry he's dead, though. I might be the only one. * Abby mms, then, "As you should be." The voice changes suddenly and she asks, "But for fuck's sake, why?" Well, he might be a raging dickish asshole, but that still don't mean he shoulda died. Especially since he was pretty much the most powerful hero we got. Fuck knows we're gonna have a painful fuckin' time dealing with the gaping hole he left behind. * Abby nods slightly, then says, "Yeah, I can get behind the utilitarian angle, but I don't really feel sorry for him. He got better than he ever deserved." She's more with you on the 'nobody deserves to die' idea, though. So I guess you're not alone. * Horus hehs. "Some people deserve to die. Just... I dunno, it's hard to really knock someone who did so much good, even if he needed his balls cut off." 's nice to know *someone* agrees with me, though. * Horus glances at the sky. "Anyway, I've probably gotta go. Was nice talkin' to you guys." * Abby sighs, then smiles a little as she replies, in the slower voice, "Sure. Stop by anytime... ah, well, anytime we're us." Sure. See ya, Mizuki. * Horus flaps her wings once and flies straight up into the air, then shoots off in another direction. * Abby looks up after her, then says, "She's nice." A moment, then, "Yeah, sure." [Abby flies off to do more superhero stuff too! Mini end.]
