[Monday, October 20th. 3 PM] [Once again, you're all gathered around the table at the base.] [Well, for a value of all minus Mizuki. And Jacky.] [Solaris is conferring with Sister Admin, and has said they'll be with you guys shortly. In the meantime, there's three of you, and an awfully big table.] [Session Start] * Christian is already there with his feet kicked up on the table and his arms behind his head. He looks generally in better spirits than the last time, as he leans back with his arms behind his head. "Looks like it's gonna be quiet tonight." * TheRedcoat sits like a sittin' thing. "I hope so." Well the meeting. I doubt outside it's gonna be much better. * Christian lets out a long breath and switches the crossing of his legs. [Solaris and Sister Admin have apparently finished whatever they were discussing, as Solaris walks over to the table and sits down. "We've actually got a couple of bits of good news. For once."] * TheRedcoat raises an eyebrow, high enough that it shows over the sunglasses. * Christian puts his sunglasses down. "We get a paid vacation?" ["Not that good."] Was worth a shot. [Solaris rubs her neck. "First bit of good news is that Master Magus was telling the truth. Attacks involving supers known to be affiliated with him have almost stopped the past couple of days."] * Horus walks in, hearing that last bit Solaris just said. "Yay?" ["Well, it gives us and the others out there a bit of a break to rest up and recuperate, which we desperately needed." She pauses. "Eternal Warrior isn't too happy about it, though."] ["Second bit of good news is related. If we can take Master Magus at his word that he's holding back to reassess and plan how to deal with us, we can take the opportunity to go after some of the unaffiliated actors who've been taking advantage of the chaos. And Sister Admin just got a tip this morning that'll let us do just that."] Mm? [Sister Admin types away, and an image of a large luxury yacht, floating above the streets of Manhatten, with cannons on either side, comes on screen. "The so-called Pirates of Madison Avenue have been staging robberies of banks, museums, and high-end retail stores for weeks. It hasn't been enough of a priority to devote resources to, and they're formidable enough that lone supers can't take them on."] Kick fuckin' ass. *Sky* pirates? * Christian looks attentive for a moment, and then coughs and settles in his chair. * TheRedcoat snorts and mutters under her breath. "Showy band of amateurs." ["Yuppie sky pirates, to be precise." Sister Admin shakes her head. "Don't underestimate them. They appear a bit silly, but they're very good and very well armed. They got overconfident, though, which is why I spotted their scout checking out the Tiffany flagship store on Fifth and Fifty-Sixth."] * TheRedcoat shifts. "I don't underestimate them, and you're right about their weaponry." She settles back and mutters again. "I just think they're poseurs." * Christian shrugs slightly. "Everybody needs a little flash. Makes it all that much more satisfying when we kick their asses back into the bay." [Solaris speaks up. "Regardless, they've stolen a lot of money, and they're getting bolder. The kind of high-profile robberies they're committing contribute to a sense of lawlessness and futility that we can't allow to take hold in this city."] So you're sayin' this is a morale an' PR mission much as anythin'. ["They're supposed to hit the store around six, as it closes. You're going to go there, set up, wait for them, and when they show up, you're gonna kick the crap outta them and send a message that this city's not gonna bow down to the chaos. Got it?"] * TheRedcoat shrugs. "Sounds good." Store knows we will be coming, or do we need to work in the blind from both ends? * Christian salutes. "Jawohl, captain." ["If you want someone inside the store, we can arrainge it, but if it's not necessary, I'd prefer we didn't burn down a landmark."] ["Jacky's just finishing up some experiments I have her running in consultation with Druish Princess. She'll meet up with you there."] * TheRedcoat stretches out. "We'll need some time to hammer out the exact details and plans. I was only asking now to save the time of asking later." * Christian gets up from his seat and gives a brief nod to Redcoat and Horus. "Ready to rock some yuppy pricks when you are." ["Understood. Good hunting, folks."] [Session End]
