[Thursday, October 16th. 8:45 PM] [We return to find our heroes descending into the sewers. There's very little light, though Horus' glow provides good visibility for about 15-20 feet. Which seems odd, since Horus usually shines a bit brighter than that.] [The sewer looks kind of like you'd expect, with two walkways, wide enough for two people (or one with a forcefield) to walk abreast, on either side of a steadily moving river of foul-looking water.] [The smell is pretty damn bad too; it is a sewer, after all. Numerous pipes run parallel and perpandicular above you, just under the street.] [The clock's ticking. Two of the young heroes are already dead, and there are five more missing. So where are they?] [Session Start] * Mizuki squints around, trying to look for a positioning clue. She manages to maintain a priestessly air, which is to say, not going 'yeeaargh' at the smell. * Horus looks around, her light considerably dulled now that she's in the sewers. She frowns at the smell and a gust of fresh air darts through the party, circling them in a protective breeze and greatly lessening the nasty stench. * TheRedcoat squints a bit, then touches her sunglasses and peers some more. Her facemask/scarf seems to be blocking the worst of the smell. * Christian tries to look around too, and surprisingly keeps himself from commenting on the smell. He's keeping his pace with the rest of the group, because he'll be damned if he can see much in this gunk. [All who look pretty quickly find a blood trail heading north. From the size and frequency of the drops, it's pretty fresh, and someone (or someones) is not in great shape.] * TheRedcoat points at the trail. "There." * Horus walks north, then. Quickly. * TheRedcoat continues as well. Yeah, let's get the hell outta here as soon as we can. * Christian walks along as well. * Mizuki floats along. It's awesome. [You continue north, following the blood trail. The stench is thankfully muted by Horus as you slowly find yourselves moving deeper undergroud, due to the slight downward slope. The pipes along the ceiling, which were once just barely visible, are now just barely not.] * Mizuki looks over at Horus and says, quietly, "You are... dimming." * Horus keeps an eye out, as even through the growing darkness she seems to be seeing just fine. "Yeah. I know." * Jacqueline idly says, "Still a useful little beacon, though." [As you continue to walk, Redcoat and Horus start to hear a constant skittering sound, like crawling bugs. A lot of crawling bugs.] * Horus glares at Jacqueline before snapping her attention to the direction of the skittering. * TheRedcoat whips her head around. "...that's...I hear insects. Many insects. Even for this city." [It's hard to tell in this enclosed space, but it seems to be coming from all sides.] * Horus grits her teeth and spreads her wings, and light flares outwards, flooding the area with a steady glow. * Christian sighs slightly. "Not sure if that's better or worse than rats." [Your eyes just have time to adjust to the light when you realize the source of the sound: the pipes above you are absolutely covered in roaches, which pour down on you in a wave just a moment after the light brightens!] [None of you can quite react in time, and are caught under the mass of falling bugs. Jacky and Mizuki are protected by their force fields, but Horus, Redcoat and Christian find themselves covered in roaches.] * Horus would scream, but opening her mouth when covered in roaches would make things even worse. [Correction! Redcoat managed to jump out of the way, but cannot make it across to the other side and lands in the water.] * TheRedcoat dodges out of the way instead of being covered in roach, but overshoots and is covered in sewer instead! It is probably just as gross as it sounds. * TheRedcoat fishes her way out of the gross and fetches up on the other side, pulling herself up, shaking herself off, and making terrible faces. * Mizuki frowns at the force field covering roaches obscuring her and says, "Rarely have I been so glad for the kamis' protection." * Christian spits a roach out of his mouth and half curses while trying not to open his mouth. He makes sure there's none covering his eyes before spinning as fast as he can, trying to get the roaches off. * Horus bursts into a dull golden fire. It doesn't seem as hot as something she would normally pull off, but the roaches swarming her are nevertheless crispified as the others nearby flee. * TheRedcoat aims her flashlight up, trying to see where the roaches came from, to avoid them. Right. Ugh. [Indeed, Horus manages to scatter the roaches near her that aren't burned to a crisp rather well. Meanwhile, Christian sends roaches flying off of him in all directions. A few sizzle against Horus' aura or bounce off of Jacky and Mizuki's force fields, and one lands at Redcoat's feet.] [Redcoat only sees a few scattered bugs left on the pipes above the group and herself.] * TheRedcoat immediately crushes it under the heel of her black Slavic boot. * Horus checks herself for roach bites. "Ugh," she repeats. "Everyone cool?" [The smell of burnt roach fills the area.] * Christian stops spinning and looks a little worn-out. "Fuckin' peachy. Just what I wanted for a vacation. They should do time shares for this place." * Horus waves her hand in annoyance, and the smell goes the way of the sewer stench. "No fucking joke." * TheRedcoat frowns. "Uh-oh." Hm? * TheRedcoat wipes off as much sewer slime as she can from herself with her free hand as she continues playing the flashlight over the area. Lucky thing she still has those latex crime-scene gloves on. I don't see any way or reason for them to have come through naturally... It makes me suspicious. * Horus nods. "Better keep goin' anyway?" If we have to fight a fuckin' bug villain, we ain't gettin' paid enough for this shit. Well, yes. * Horus moves to go, then, keeping an eye and an ear out for more ickies. * TheRedcoat continues, paralleling the group on the other bank as long as she can. [You all keep moving, pretty well grossed out and quite a bit more alert. Every so often you'll hear another skittering sound, but investigation will show just a few bugs here or there, crawling off of pipes into cracks in the wall.] * Christian starts walking. "Or Jackie can whip up some super bug repellent or somethin'." * Mizuki adds, lowly, as she looks off towards seeing the hurt heroes, "If we have time." [After a couple of minutes of walking, you the path splits left and right.] ....hm. * TheRedcoat plays her flashlight into each branch as best she can. [The left bank that Redcoat is on goes into the left path, and the right bank the rest of the team is on goes into the other path.] [Mizuki and Horus realize that the blood trail ends abruptly on their side. Redcoat, meanwhile, manages to spot it on the opposite bank of the path she's going into.] ...huh. That's interesting. * TheRedcoat looks over. "Does the trail continue over there?" Nope. You got it? Yes. On the right bank of the branch on my side... * Mizuki mms softly, then nods slightly. Must have been difficult for them to get over there, carrying wounded. * Horus nods. She looks to the others. "Anyone need help gettin' across?" Depends on how they're travelling. * Christian glances at Horus. "Nah. But I'd suggest people get a bit away when I do." * TheRedcoat takes out her sash, uses it to hook onto one of the overhead pipes, and swings over to the proper bank, a little ways in. "I suppose that makes sense." * Horus nods. At that, she flies slowly over to the other side, landing near where Redcoat is. * Christian heads a little away from the group and takes a step back, before jolting across at high speed, leaving water in his wake. It probably sloshes a bit against the sides from a distance, but it's probably better than standing next to him where there'd be a pretty good chance of being splashed. He comes to a stop once he reaches the proper bank and steps more slowly towards the rest of the group. [Once you all reach the other side, you continue down the path. A couple of rats skitter away in front of you as you move along.] * Mizuki floats along. Cheatyface fliers. * Jacqueline walks right through the water; thank science for force fields. [Before long, the path rounds a long corner, and you come across the scene of what was obviously a battle. Shattered bedrock and scorchmarks litter both sides of the path, and a pair of dead rats, about the size of pit bulls. One is burned, and the other has it's neck twisted in an unnatural direction.] * TheRedcoat makes a face and rushes up to the scene, flashing the flashlight around as she checks it out. * Horus rushes forward, too, bringing her own personal floodlight to the area. [With the light closer, you can see another couple of gigantic dead rats on further down.] * Mizuki says slowly, "A... vermin controller." [The blood spatter is much thicker around here, though it's hard to tell what's human and what's rat.] [Jacky and Redcoat are pretty sure they don't see any sign of anyone on the opposite bank, and notice tracks indicating the rats came from both sides. Horus spots all that, along with some curious splashes onto the path from the water.] * Horus furrows her brow, not that anyone can see it with the mask and all, and goes to get a better look at those wacky splashes. [They look like they were made by something of not insignificant size coming up out of the water towards the path.] * TheRedcoat sees Horus going for something and follows her on it. * TheRedcoat frowns. * Horus looks to Redcoat curiously. Whatever caused these...was much bigger than just those rodents. Or any normal human being. I don't like the look of this. We're in the fuckin' sewers. Can *anything* here be good news? I don't suppose anyone here knows anything about some malevolent sewer-based villain? [A winning lotto ticket floats by, unseen.] They are, of course, the products of the ancient and disgusting Sewer King. * Jacqueline flips her hair back slightly, and then she points towards the ceiling. "If we could kindly find a place that won't collapse the entire street inwards by way of its destruction, it would be a help." Yeah, Sewer King. He's got spells that controls sewer animals. Been around for fuckin' ages, too. * Mizuki glances to Jackie, and adds, "After we find the children, you mean?" * Christian snorts. "Probably a good idea with me around." * Jacqueline rolls her eyes as she says, "Yes, yes, of course, but thinking ahead is rather important, considering." [Horus, despite her distraction, notices a soft but steadily-growing hissing sound above the group. Looking up, she notices a steam pipe above them about to burst, and just manages to shout a warning to the group before it bursts!] [Jacky notices it too!] [Mizuki and Redcoat manage to get out of the way in time, but the others are scalded by the steam!] * Horus is scalded by steam. She looks peeved. * Jacqueline jumps back as soon as the steam begins to pour down on her, but it's of no real use, sadly. * Mizuki floats away from the steam, twisting in the air, and then looks back. "It's as if all the sewers are against us. At least the younger heroes have not fallen yet on this path." * Christian gets caught by the steam and leaps out of the way. "Ow! Goddammit!" * TheRedcoat gets the warning and dodges away in the nick of time, eyes the surroundings suspiciously, and continues if possible. * Christian tries to quiet himself down, hissing a little. "When I get my hands on this fuckin' prick..." * Horus shakes her head and gets out of the way of the steam, looking for where the heroes might have gone. [The trail keeps going ahead; a few hundred feet down, you spot another broken steampipe, and follow the blood trail onto the other bank.] * TheRedcoat swings across on a non-broken and hopefully non-steam or anything else pipe to continue following the trail. * Mizuki twitches for a moment as she floats along, before intoning lowly, "Five of them... still alive for the moment... in an abandoned subway station..." * TheRedcoat looks over to Mizuki quickly, then pulls out her comm card and tries to contact HQ. [Sister Admin's voice comes through, a little weak but clear. "I'm following your signals. What's going on?"] We have a...lead, kind of. Yeah, looks like they got attacked by the Sewer King. Mizuki has...sensed them? Five of them alive, in an abandoned subway station. Mizuki, can you tell if that station is along our current route? * Mizuki looks slightly away as she replies, quietly, "No." * TheRedcoat frowns. "I hope we're trailing the right group, then...do you have any way of knowing about how far they are from here? [Solaris' voice comes on. "Sewer King? God dammit. I spent almost a month years back trying to track him down. Mizuki, are you sure they're alive?"] An approximate radius of distance, perhaps? * Jacqueline slowly exhales and gestures around slightly as she says, "Then can you tell us which direction it /is/ in? We could blow our way through." * Mizuki shakes her head and says, more forcefully, "No." I can tell you nothing... but what I have said. ...all right. * Horus moves after the trail, then, following it across the way as necessary. Sister Admin, how many abandoned subway stations are anywhere near here? * TheRedcoat has been following the trail the entire time. * Mizuki adds, quietly, "They are still alive... for at least a few more moments." [Sister Admin comes back on. "Redd Hook has a comm, but with only one, and that far underground, I can't pin it down exactly... checking records for abandoned subway stations..."] [A few moments pass. "Okay. About a mile down, take a left at the next fork. It's sealed off, but you should be able to access it through a wall. I'll contact you when you're there."] Right. * TheRedcoat starts a-runnin' down the way. * Horus kicks up the speed, too, taking to the air over the murky water. She's not flying nearly as fast as she normally does, but she still isn't slow. * Mizuki flies too, hands gripped tight on her staff as she hisses, * Jacqueline takes off running! * Christian nods slightly. "Right." He takes off running and goes in the middle of the bank, keeping up enough speed to run across the top of the water and keep up easily with the other fast runners. * Horus concentrates on flying, and as she does, the stink wafts in towards the group until the stench is almost choking. That must be how bad it normally is down here. * TheRedcoat took a dip in the filth, the smell doesn't seem to really be affecting her running right now. [You all take off moving, quickly coming to the fork and hanging a left.] [As you move past the fork, Redcoat, Jackie and Horus all notice something moving in the water below them or alongside the paths. Horus can tell that they're fucking huge gators.] Something in the water! [Suddenly, gators leap up out of the water and bite at Mizuki, Jacky and Redcoat!] Holy shit! * Mizuki twists out of the way slightly, trying to interpose the staff, and getting some teeth in her despite her effort. "Nnh. Ain't legends after all." * Jacqueline is briefly bloodied before her forcefield springs back up into existence to disengage the gator's jaws and push the thing away from herself. She scowls and presses her hand over the wound. * TheRedcoat twists around, but can't get her sash around in time and gets chomped. ;-; "Son of a pigfucker!" [As suddenly as the giant gators appeared, they descend back into the murky water, heading back the way you came.] * TheRedcoat looks after them. "What the--hm." * TheRedcoat presses a hand to her wound for now and looks ahead, staying on the wall side of the path this time. Y'guys okay? * Christian tries to jump as he hears the call of "gators" and skids on the water, before running back and trying to take one out but misses as it skids along. He jumps to the side of the bank before his stopping causes him to sink in the water. "Shit. Everyone alright?" * Mizuki nods slightly. "For the most part. Quickly now." No time, let's move it. * TheRedcoat moves it moves it! * Christian nods and gets back to speed, skimming the water again. * Jacqueline groans beneath her breath as she hurries along. "About making a hole the ceiling to feed Horus sunlight..." [Another minute or two passes as you move further down the tunnel, and Sister Admin's voice comes over the comms to tell you that you're close. You don't need her to tell you that, because on the left bank, you can see a two-person-sized hole has been knocked in the wall.] * Horus lands near the hole. She walks over and looks through. * TheRedcoat looks through on the other side. [A maintenance tunnel of sorts continues out of sight beyond the hole in the wall.] * TheRedcoat does a cursory flashlight inspection of it. [Nothing particularly noteworthy; it goes on straight for as far as Redcoat can see.] * Christian skids to a stop as he approaches the whole and stands next to the lookers, cracking his knuckles lightly, whispering. "Just say the word if you want a bigger one." * TheRedcoat dives in and starts proceeding down it rather quickly. * Mizuki floats after her, still tense. * Jacqueline is perfectly content to wait and go third or fourth, rather than being at the front or absolute rear. * Horus gets through without difficulty, because seriously, and turns on the lights. [You move through the tunnel for a couple of minutes before you see a dimly lit doorway up ahead of you.] * Christian must be going last then, since Jackie pushed her way ahead in line. Jerk. * TheRedcoat heads towards it, trying not to outline herself in the light. * TheRedcoat attempts to peek through the doorway without being seen. * TheRedcoat pulls out a bandage from somewhere and winds it quickly around her wound as best she can as she does so. * TheRedcoat reaches out, seemingly without thinking, and pushes two fingers down at Horus. * Horus blinks at Redcoat. * TheRedcoat blinks, then turns around and mouths, "the light" Please. * Horus ahs silently and bites her lip. All light around her fades and then disappears. * TheRedcoat then tries the peering trick again. [As the light from Horus fades, Redcoat peeks out through the darkness. There's a soft, weak light a distance away in what Redcoat can make out as an old subway station, and Horus can make out three figures, all glowing slightly.] * Horus whispers, "Three people. They're all glowin'." * TheRedcoat readies her gun and calls out through the doorway. "Redd Hook?" [One of the figures whips around towards you, and the other two quickly follow. "Who's there?!"] Friendlies. We met at SPLEE-NY. You remember. I was the one who saved your entire station. * TheRedcoat slowly steps through, her gun ready but not aimed. "Do you remember me? We're here to help. Are you all right?" [Another voice calls out. "Oh, thank god." Daegal waves you over with a blue glowing arm. "Yeah. We've got wounded."] * Christian looks at Jacqueline with a very odd look, wondering what the hell she's on. * Horus walks in after Redcoat, and as she does so, the dim light of her costume springs back into existence. * TheRedcoat goes on over, beckoning the others to follow. * TheRedcoat looks around as well. * Mizuki floats after them and says, "I can tend to the wounded." * TheRedcoat puts her gun in her pocket but doesn't remove said hand from pocket. * Mizuki even moves over near the more downed sorts to float-crouch and touch her staff to them in the simplest of heals. [As light fills the room, you see you're in a beautiful, old style subway station, remarkably well preserved despite decades of disuse. The five kids look terrible; a gently glowing teenage girl and a boy in skater gear are slumped against the wall, unconcious and battered.] [Next to Daegal is a young girl, maybe six or seven, with blond pigtails, covered in a pink, translucent armor, who has a couple of bite wounds on her leg and side. A ghostly, floating teenage boy is next to her.] * Christian steps in from behind Jackie. "Jesus, sure did a number on ya." He glances around. "It safe to talk?" [Daegal, meanwhile, looks like hell. He's cut all over, scalded, and his left arm is hanging limply, crushed, at his side.] Seems so. * Horus shakes her head at the carnage. She pulls out the card and activates it to contact Sister Admin. [The little girl looks up at Mizuki. "Are my brothers okay?"] * TheRedcoat does take a stance as equidistant as possible to all perceivable directions of attack, though. "What happened, Redd?" * Mizuki smiles wanly at her as she is healed, and says, "I don't know who your brothers are, little one." [Daegal shakes his head, looking drained. "No fuckin' idea. We were about to break up the meeting when those axe idiots and a few disco ninjas popped in. We were takin' some hits, but drivin' them off..."] ["When motherfuckin' Panzermensch busted in and went through us like Tyson went through Spinks."] ...ahhha. So that's who that was. * TheRedcoat glances quickly over at the little girl. "I think we have a picture of what happened after that." Did you know the status of your communications before the attack? * Mizuki moves to Daegal next, as heavy hitter, and just keeps moving around the room. [Mizuki patches up everyone. The two that are out stay out, but look better. Kinderguardian's wounds are largely healed, but Daegal still looks pretty shaky.] * Jacqueline at some point manages to cease staring at the cute little girl, and once she does she moves around the room in semi-absent fashion, mainly checking for points through which to get sunlight, just in case. [Daegal looks at Redcoat blankly. "Our comms? I dunno... who gives a fuck? Starburst and XTreme Teen were knocked out almost immediately. I tried to hold him off, but..." He looks down at his arm.] * Christian rubs his head. "God, that guy's just runnin' rampant now...it's gonna be hell unless we find some way to contain him." [Sister Admin comes on the comms. "You find them?"] Yes. Three conscious, two not. Mizuki is helping out. You got our location? [Daegal rubs his head. "No way we coulda taken him. Didn't want to leave the two behind, but we hadta get outta there..." He falls silent. "They musta been following me. Couldn't have found the place any other way. Stupid, so fucking *stupid*..."] [Solaris comes on the line. "Yes. Eternal Warrior is just about done with Centaurion, and is incoming."] * Christian looks at Daegal. "Look. You're fuckin' alive, so save the pity party for later." He blows out a breath and looks upward "What the fuck we gonna do 'bout him anyway?" * TheRedcoat taps her chin reflectively. "Now, now, if they had been following you, I see no reason why they would have waited so long to set up the ambush." Did you have any lines of communication open before the attack? Check in with anybody? * Mizuki finishes her healing rounds and says, "We... should be moving hastily." * TheRedcoat looks over at Mizuki. "Someone coming?" Solaris says Eternal Warrior's on his way. Tanglin' with Centaurion now. [Daegal shakes his head at Redcoat. "I dunno. It doesn't matter. We gotta get outta here." Meanwhile, Kinderguardian tugs on Horus' arm. "Are my brothers okay?"] * Mizuki glances to Redcoat and says, lowly, "Do not assume I see everything." She then raises her voice to say, "It is... simply that the wounded are in little shape to fight much more. We must find a place of strength." Matters more than you know, but Mizuki is right. * TheRedcoat tries to find someone light and with superficial injuries and who isn't Kinderguardian that she can give a piggyback carry to. * Horus looks down at the kid tugging on her arm. She tucks Sister Admin's communication card away and kneels so she's face to face with the little girl. "No. They're not okay." Pause. "I'm sorry." [The little girl nods slowly. "I kind of figured..." She then walks away, back next to Daegal.] [Jacky, Redcoat and Christian hear a loud pounding sound coming from somewhere...] ...shit. Someone IS coming. What? Oh, fuck no. Speak of the devil.. * Horus stands again and looks around. "If we weren't a mile under the fucking ground..." * TheRedcoat pushes the two unconscious children together, takes off her coat and reverses it after taking out her gun and sash, laying it over them and rendering them invisible. * Mizuki shakes her head and says, "If you have a path for us, Sister Admin, we would be very grateful." [Daegal and Teen Spirit apparently here it too, because they both perk up and start looking around right as Panzermensch bursts through a wall on the far side of the station, illuminated by the dim light from Horus that reaches over there. "Ah, I thought I heard ze sound of rats..."] * Christian turns around and gets ready for whatever's coming. "We gotta deal with what we gotta deal with. If ya need to, it might be good to have at least one of us on evacuation duty while the rest of us hold 'em off." ( EDIT move Christian's line before Panzermensch's appearance ) * Christian 's eyes widen as Panzer breaks through the walls. "Oh fuck no." * TheRedcoat looks up. "We need a big motherfucking hole up there, right NOW!" * TheRedcoat points dramatically up with the hand holding the gun, and discreetly pulls something else out of the "nothing" her hands are resting on with her sash-holding hand. * Horus backs away towards the others, facing Panzermensch. "Run!" she yells, and the entire room/hall goes pitch black. * Mizuki 's eyes turn to Panzermech and then she grits her teeth. As the lights go out, she starts to call, "City's fallen heart, I say--" and then her call cuts off suddenly, noislessly. * Jacqueline is perfectly glad to take off as best as she can in the darkness; ego and stupid degrees of bravery do not necessarily go hand in hand. * TheRedcoat takes up the two kids, pinning the coat between them and her arms, and takes off as best she can. [Panzermensch laughs a tinny, cruel laugh. "Silly children. Darkness cannot stop me. Nothing can stop me." And you can hear him begin to stomp towards you.] * Christian nods and helps the little girl along. "Hold on." He starts to pick up speed as he hightails it. * Horus follows her own directions, putting a hand on Daegal's limp arm as she goes by. [Daegal follows along, trying to lead the others as best he can, since he can now see in the dark.] [You're all lead towards a door near where the kids were, leading into a maintenance tunnel similar to the one you came through.] [Panzermensch's stomps continue to slowly and steadily get closer, and his laugh grows in volume as well.] * Horus grits her teeth but does her best not to make noise, using her nightvision to lead people through the sewers. * TheRedcoat moves burdenedly but silently. [You all hear Panzermensch's steps stop. Moments later, the ground begins to rumble, and you hear loud crashes behind you and a rush of air as if part of the tunnel behind you has collapsed.] * Horus glances back to get a look. * Jacqueline follows suit, complete with a curiously arched brow. * TheRedcoat speeds up and doesn't bother. (to look) [Horus sees the area around the doorway behind her has collapsed.] * Horus rushes people forward a while longer before turning on the lights, as it were. [The tunnel is illuminated, and you call can see the entrance a few hundred yards ahead. Meanwhile, Sister Admin's voice comes over your comms. "There's a manhole a thousand yards to your right once you exit that tunnel! Eternal Warrior is a couple of minutes away!"] * TheRedcoat follows Sister Admin's directions. * Horus does, too, not really zooming along and helping others do the same. * Jacqueline is totally okay with zooming along; surely someone else will be helpful. * Christian keeps heading in that direction, concentrating on making it out of there and not much on conversating. * TheRedcoat pants out as quietly as possible. "Horus, we may need you to fly up and get that open for us if you could." [Redcoat carries the two unconcious teens along, Christian leads Kinderguardian, and Teen Spirit floats alongside Daegal, Horus and Jacky as you all make a run for it.] [From behind you, a faint skittering and hissing is apparent. Teen Spirit looks back as he floats. "More of those huge rats! A couple hundred yards behind us!"] Mizuki, could your kami help here? * Horus does as Redcoat suggests, flying up for the manhole cover. [All but Christian realize that Mizuki's not with you.] ...Mizuki? Find her! SHIT! Christian, you're fast and strong, are you carrying anyone? Could you...? * Christian growls slightly and then turns to the girl. "Stick with them. You're gonna be alright." He lets go and then turns back in that direction. "Was already ahead of ya there." [Suddenly, as Horus flies up to the manhole, it flies open, and Eternal Warrior jumps down into the sewers. "Where is he?!"] Down, past the cave in. We lost Mizuki! * TheRedcoat gestures with her head. "Back there! We think Mizuki's there too!" * Mizuki doesn't reply. But there is a soft echoing in the hallways as her voice is heard to say, almost seeming to echo from the walls, "She fights... two paths on a road... they take the third...." * Horus zips down to help people up and into the air. ... Mizuki? * TheRedcoat curses under her breath and points something up by the air. * Jacqueline points a thumb behind them as she says, "Somewhere back there, with our idiotic teammate." * Horus shakes her head and goes to grab one of the unconscious kids, flying them up and out of the sewers. * TheRedcoat shoots whatever it is up and is dragged up by it. * Christian nods to Eternal Warrior. "I'll go with ya so I can bring her out." [EW looks around, then realizes Mizuki's not there. His eyes go wide. "... No. Get the children to safety."] * TheRedcoat handed over a kid to Horus before that, handing him/her over out of invisibility. * Christian narrows his eyes at EW. "The fuck I'm leavin' someone behind. Besides, I think the rest of 'em can take care of the children." [EW ignores Christian and takes off back towards where you came from.] * TheRedcoat shouts down. "We have the children, this is no time to argue, GO! GET HER!" * Christian hisses slightly and runs after EW. * Jacqueline reaches up to pinch the bridge of her nose momentarily, and given that she isn't actually responsible for any children or anything elects to follow behind Christian and EW as well. * TheRedcoat sets her child up on safe (?) ground, and goes back down for Kinderguardian. * Horus zips down to Daegal and takes his hand. "Just hang on. * Horus , with that warning, flies up to the open air with Daegal in tow. * TheRedcoat grapples up again! Using her mind brain to not like collide with Horus or Daegal or anything. * Horus hits the comms once she's out of the sewers and flying, her light back to its full brilliance. "Where we goin'?" [Solaris comes over the line. "No train stations nearby! We've got other supers inbound to escort you, ETA 3 minutes! Start moving west to meet them!"] * TheRedcoat puts on her coat again when she gets up with Kinderguardian, and turns to the little girl. "Can you hang on to my shoulders?" * TheRedcoat puts her gun and grappler gun back into the coat as she does so, as well. [Suddenly, you all hear a deafening scream that seems to come from all around you, from everything around you. From the air, from the ground, from the buildings, it pierces into you with anguish. Redcoat is knocked to her knees by it, and Horus just barely stays standing; the three kids with you are similarly brought down by it.] * Horus covers her ears with a grimace. "Definitely... getting the fuck out of here," she says, and starts to float higher in the air; the kids and Daegal float with her. "Red, you think you can avoid radar while you move?" [A soft, familiar voice echoes out. "I am sorry to have not made it further, my new allies, and friends. May the kami, the city, watch over you all..." Another voice, harsher and unfamilar follows. "... and... take these jackasses down."] * TheRedcoat shrugs. "I--" .... * TheRedcoat puts her forehead in her hands for a moment, takes a deep breath, and just starts swinging westward on her sash determinedly. * TheRedcoat seems to be throwing herself especially hard into the swings, and her expression is perhaps a little too taut. * Horus is silent for a moment after Mizuki's voice, then she looks at Daegal. "Let's go," is all she says, before she, he, and the three children rocket at speeds she's never flown before to the west. [Session End]
