[Tuesday, October 14th, Late-PM!] [AD has been delivered to the proper authorities, and some people have washed off the ugh of the heads. This leaves, among others, Horus and Mizuki at the base and not quite having left yet.] [Mizuki is floating in the main adjacent to teleporters room, waiting for the end of the world. Or particular people. Who could tell with her?] [Let's hope someone like Horus shows up soon! Mini start!] * Mizuki is floating as the box text said. If it weren't for her hair hanging down from its wetness, as opposed to its normal hanging, it might not be possible to tell she showered at all unless you'd seen facegunk on her from earlier. * Horus comes walking in from down the hall. Her shoulder's bandaged up and not bloody at all anymore, and overall, she's looking much better... but still tired and rather downcast. She nods to Mizuki as she enters the room and heads for her teleporter. * Mizuki floats after her and offers, "Not... quite a satisfying night." Yeah, 's a fuckin' understatement. * Mizuki replies, with a weak smile, "I am sometimes known as the mistress therof." A pause, then, "May I fly with you?" * Horus blinks at Mizuki, then says, "... Sure. Hang on, lemme get my stuff." She heads over to her teleport room and disappears into it. * Horus returns, now with a purse over one shoulder and a coat draped in her arms. "Arright. Which 'port do you wanna hit up?" * Mizuki half-smiles. "Oh, I was expecting to follow you. I didn't... have much of a destination in mind." Cool, okay. Um... come with me, then. * Horus goes back into her room and ports out! * Mizuki follows her out! Pop! * Horus and Mizuki, presumably, exit in a subway station in Greenwich Village. Horus takes a look around, ignores the gapers who are probably all, 'wtf superheroes all of a sudden?' and heads up the stairs. Once under open air, the gem in her mask flares and she gains her full costume, taking flight and hovering in the air. * Mizuki flies up after her the whole way. She's also good at the ignoring of the public. She comments, after a few moments, "My curiosity gets the best of me, and I must ask... which myths of Horus do you most draw from?" * Horus blinks at Mizuki. "Whaddaya mean? Like, me personally?" She starts flying. * Mizuki nods slightly. "You, your powers... I have to admit more than a passing interest. Much like with Eternal Warrior... it is interesting to meet people who draw from real mythology, and not merely... pretenders like Dog Pilum." Oh. I guess... I think of him as the god of the sky, and like a protector? Not the god of war, so much, or the trickster, just... the sun, more than the moon, and... * Horus rubs at the back of her head with her free hand. "It's kinda hard to explain," she says, sheepishly. * Mizuki smiles a bit, adding, "Growth and birth, life and sustinance, heat and breath." Yeah. You're way better at that stuff than I am. * Mizuki replies, "I have quite a bit of training in it." A slight grin. "Not just books, but they're a good part of it. 'Protect the people of Egypt from destruction. Chaos.'". * Horus nods. "Yeah, well... that's Set." * Mizuki nods slightly. "There is a Set, then? I have to admit that while my mythology is good, my... knowledge of superpowered persons is somewhat lacking." Yeah. He's pretty much... y'know, like with Pa- like with Centaurion and Eternal Warrior? Set is for Horus. * Mizuki nods along. "Of course." She chuckles. "Gotta admit, that really piques me. Mythology to life." She then smiles a little weakly. "I'm sorry if this embarasses." It's... okay. I don't know a whole lot about it myself. * Horus looks ahead. "I mean, I tried to look it up an' stuff, but there's only so much... y'know?" * Mizuki nods slightly. "I've got a lot of knowledge about mythology socked away. Research's kinda a bitch when you don't know where it's going." * Horus blinks at the slight change in Mizuki's tone, and she looks at her oddly. "Yeah." * Mizuki nods a little and adds, "If you're curious, I could probably find something on it." After a moment she adds, "I suppose that is not what is on your mind, though." Nah. Not really. * Mizuki nods a moment, then replies, after a moment, "I am glad the winds listened to you." Me... me too. I didn't know they'd listen to me like that. I was just so *angry* that... * Horus looks down at the city below them, still probably bustling quite nicely, and sighs. "I just dunno. We saved a lot of people today, but it doesn't... feel like enough to me, 'cause... and..." She shakes her head. Sorry. Not really sure what's on my mind, either. * Mizuki replies, "Minds are like that. It is fine." After a moment, she adds, "The spirits of the air can be difficult. You call them well." * Horus laughs a little. "You're the one who called 'em." * Mizuki replies, "Ah, but it was just so you could put them to a task, Horus." * Horus nods, accepting that. "Sure, I guess. Thanks." * Mizuki nods. After a moment she adds, "If you wish to explain your thoughts... is there something that would make you more comfortable doing it?" * Horus shrugs. I dunno. I don't... I mean, well, there are people I can talk to. Like the last Horus. But I don't usually want to, if that makes sense. And today was fuckin' rough. * Horus falls silent, then says, "Pretty sure I'm gonna have to break the news to him. He hated American Dream, but I have no idea how he's gonna take it." * Mizuki nods slightly, saying quietly, "He was an ugly man. But as a symbol, he existed, and still... a being." An' even as a man, I mean... fuck, I don't know. He was awful, but he still did a lot. A lot of good, I guess. I dunno how we're gonna fill in that gap. We barely saved those people today. * Horus adds, more quietly, "And he didn't deserve to die." * Mizuki is silent a moment, then says softly, "It will be hard." Yeah. * Mizuki licks her lips. "An imperfect, even ugly, man can do a lot of good. Sometimes, they have done the most good." Yup. Just another way life ain't fuckin' fair. To anyone, really. * Horus watches where she's going. Don't want to run into any actual birds, after all. * Mizuki flies with her a while, before saying, "We will save the next group because we have to. There is... no other way to approach it, yes?" Never found a better way, no. Always try. Sometimes it doesn't work, but always have to. Otherwise... I'd never forgive myself. Probably the same for you, right? * Mizuki is silent a moment, then replies with, "I... always tended to fight with the supernatural. Evil by nature. These human threats are more challenging." * Mizuki looks over at her. "But once you answer the calling, you cannot step back." Not really. * Horus looks like she wants to say more on that subject, but she stops herself. "Why're people more 'challenging'?" * Mizuki replies, "Because their reasons are human. Their reasoning is human. They are mirrors." She jingles her staff a moment. "And they do not reflect the sun as they should." Yeah. I don't fuckin' get it, myself. * Horus chuckles, a little. "I mean, it's ain't like I just think there's good people and bad people, but... yeah, I don't get it. Reading people isn't really one 'a my strong points." * Mizuki snorts and replies, "Normal people, sure, sin and vice. Supervillains... they do it because they're in it for themselves. Because society's too much for 'em to bother fucking with. Because they want to take the easy way." * Horus looks at Mizuki oddly for the second time that night. "Yeah..." Pause. "That's gotta be the first time I ever really heard you swear. Didn't know you were so into that." * Mizuki pauses, then smiles awkwardly. "Yes, well... I am of two minds about some things." Uh huh. Maybe NYC's rubbin' off on you or somethin'. * Mizuki chuckles, after saying that, "No, I've been like that a long time. I mean... in the stupid food puzzle, it helps to have spent time studying people who really got deathtrap puzzles." * Horus nods, thinking about that, then says, completely out of nowhere: "You've tried sausage pizza, right?" * Mizuki blinks, then nods slowly. "Yeah. There's a decent joint not far from where I hang my... staff." Best food in the fuckin' world, 'specially here. You should get it from Moretti's, sometime. Really good. It'd be... * Horus hovers in the air, looking, then points. "'bout five blocks that way and two west." Wasn't sure if you ate, but if you've tried it, then you do. * Mizuki looks around a moment, then says, after a moment, "I'm a little lost, actually. But I'll try to remember." She looks back to Horus. "Why the pizza thoughts?" I'm hungry and you mentioned food. You gonna be okay gettin' where you need to be? * Mizuki nods slightly, with a faint smile, "Fly high enough, and it'll look familiar eventually, yes?" * Horus snickers. "That's the way it works." I've gotta go. My stop's coming up. * Mizuki aahs and nods slightly. "Of course." She pulls upright. "Well, I certainly wouldn't keep you. But if you find another person to work through the muddle with worthwhile... you know how to find me." * Horus smiles. "Thanks. I really appreciate it." See ya. * Horus turns and kicks on the speed, zipping down and into the mess of buildings. She loses Mizuki in short order (which may well be what she intended to do). * Mizuki doesn't try to tail her, although she does watch her fly a moment. After a second she murmurs to herself, "Yes, I do find them unnecessary most times, and you are well aware." She looks around a moment and then says, "Yes, I know. A pizza would not be amiss." She starts to float down to an alley. [And so they split up and NEVER SEE EACHOTHER AGAIN. Until tomorrow! Mini end!]
